Targeted improvement of performance and competitivenessIn balance: collaboration in interdisciplinary teams

‘It's all in the mix.’ Kerstin Gurr, HR manager at Krahnen & Gobbers GmbH and therefore also responsible for specialist staff development at kragoTEC®, is convinced: ‘The success of a company is reflected, among other things, in the right personnel decisions, the targeted development of potential – but also in the balance between skills and personalities.’ To this end, kragoTEC® focuses specifically on close cooperation between interdisciplinary teams. The Human Resources Manager also pays particular attention to the following aspects, which also benefit customers...

"The kragoTEC business is strongly technology-oriented, but it also thrives on the technical expertise and experience of its employees," says Kerstin Gurr. The head of human resources has been responsible for personnel development at the long-established Krefeld-based family business Krahnen & Gobbers GmbH since 2021 and she knows how important it is to have strong project development skills within the team. "The diverse activities of our employees are strongly geared towards interdisciplinary cooperation. This is the only way we can develop the best individual solutions for the different challenges our customers face. Consulting, engineering and production work closely together. This requires certain skills and competencies that work well in a team, but also a sense of responsibility for the overall performance of the company."

Proven specialists, experienced industry experts – and high-potential young talent

Equally important is the right mix of experienced employees with extensive know-how and high-potential young talent. "We also attach great importance to balanced socio-demographic structures," explains Kerstin Gurr. "Krahnen & Gobbers GmbH" is a fifth-generation family business. In our experience, values such as fair cooperation, cohesion, but also the reflection of social structures within the company mean that employees feel very comfortable in our open corporate culture. This promotes motivation and development, which in turn leads to excellent performance and optimal results for our customers."

It's all in the mix. Working hand in hand for the best solution.

Innovation arises not least from external inspiration. That is why we also focus on a corporate culture that is as open as possible when it comes to developing our skilled workforce. Diversity, people of all ages, different nationalities and, of course, career changers from other industries enrich our interdisciplinary teams. The key to success is a passion for jointly developing optimal solutions and a willingness to engage in close exchange at all levels, from consulting to product development and textile engineering to quality management, production and warehousing."

Personnel development: promoting young talent, expanding qualifications and talent management

Measures for the professional development of employees of all ages and occupational groups are just as important to the company as identifying special skills and promoting them in a targeted manner, or offering dual training programmes for high-potential young talent. Currently, apprenticeships are offered in the areas of wholesale and foreign trade, machine and plant operation, and warehouse logistics. The HR manager comments: "We actively participate in renowned apprentice fairs. Together with colleagues from the specialist departments, I provide information about the opportunities we offer motivated young talents."

Transparent and authentic: commitment to Vocatium Krefeld

A clear example: the Vocatium trainee fair in Krefeld. At the two-day event, which was held under the patronage of the Federal Ministry of Education, Family, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth, the HR manager presented the company and its training opportunities together with production manager Frank Lambertz. "It is important to us to present ourselves as transparently and authentically as possible. That's why we like to directly involve managers from specialist areas such as production management," explains the HR manager. These approaches are clearly leading to success. "With a few exceptions, our employees feel comfortable with us in the long term. Some even continue to work for us beyond retirement age. This also benefits the younger generation, who benefit greatly from their experience."

Award: Nominated for ‘NEXT 2025 – Young Talent Award for Textiles & Clothing’

A wealth of expertise, motivation and commitment from experienced employees, which clearly rubs off on the next generation: as a graduate of a dual training programme as a machine and plant operator in textile finishing, employee Edrian Kasemi successfully participated in the Textile Academy NRW's competition for young talent – and was nominated. "A great success," says Kerstin Gurr, "which certainly also has to do with the fact that our young talent benefits greatly from interdisciplinary cooperation and working in experienced teams."

Employee events: with a lot of empathy and a personal touch

This is also part of the recipe for success and well-being: regular team events and meals together – with or without a supporting programme – on the company's own campus round off the picture. "And, of course, they are an integral part of responsible personnel management, in which employees should always feel that they are seen and valued as individuals."
